2009-2010 Folk Fellowship choir
We need your voice to be part of a massed-choir that will sing new arrangements of traditional Australian folk songs.
The songs are from the National Library of Australia’s Oral History archive. This year’s Folk Fellow, Christina Mimmocchi, has arranged a selection of songs for a massed-choir to learn in three rehearsals and record. The recording will be part of a cd release that will be available at next year’s National Folk Festival.
All welcome – no previous experience is required. However, attendance at all rehearsals is compulsory. Please print out the sheet music from the downloadable files provided here. Books of the full scores will be available for sale at the festival but you can get all the music you need for free right here. You can also download sound files of the full song and of your voice part here.
Rehearsals are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2.30-4pm in the Singing Room. The performance/recording is in the Budawang on Monday at 10:20 am.
